KES (Knowledge Exchange Sessions) is a platform of innovative content based on technology, behavior, and creativity. Their mission is to help companies view business in a new perspective. For that purpose, KES holds 6 events every season. They invite key speakers that are influencing current movements.
For this KES event, Alexa Clay spoke on her bestselling book “The Misfit Economy”. It draws stories and creative insights from the lives of gangsters, pirates, hackers and slum dwellers as informal entrepreneurs. In order to convey the gritty and raw aesthetic of the underground life, a set of hand-drawn icons and typography were made to represent its universe.
We worked with individual icons, representing different types of commerce or elements that are related to the main topic of the event. These visual graphics, along with the hand and custom-made type, were the main identity for the entire event and printed pieces, introducing the user to the subject in a rough yet visually appealing way.
